Simon Lipskar responds in detail to the DoJ’s “bizarre misunderstanding” of the e-book business

The AAR’s own Simon Lipskar wrote a great post today on Digital Book World, describing our situation with the Department of Justice’s settlement with three publishers on the Apple/agency model, and including the letter he’s sending to the judge in charge of the settlement.  Simon says,

I think every one of us — publishers, agents, authors, retailers, wholesalers and device makers — impacted by the DoJ’s quite literally bizarre misunderstanding of the ebook, publishing and bookselling businesses has an obligation to stand up and make their voices heard.

Simon also includes the address to which you too can send your comments to the DoJ’s lead prosecutor:

John R. Read
Chief, Litigation III Section
United States Department of Justice
450 5th St NW
Suite 4000
Washington DC 20530

I hope you’ll be writing to him too!   Please share your thoughts and comments with @digitaar on Twitter.
